
Hector is originally from Albuquerque New Mexico, via Colorado and now California.
A former TV show host, Hector has received a Rocky Mountain Emmy and a Telly Award. At 16 he released his first bilingual self titled album that received nominations for Male Vocalist of the year and won Gospel Song of the year at the Hispano Music Awards.
He holds a degree in communications and a Masters of Arts from New Mexico Highlands University. While a student at NMHU Hector became Student Body President and was featured in an MTV and LOGO Docuemtary titled Latino Beginnings.
After college Hector went on to become Vice President and then President of Albuquerque Pride, President of the NM Coalition for Student Justice (anti-bullying group) and volunteered for Equality New Mexico. While President of Albuquerque Pride, Hector was successful in bringing back the New Mexico AIDS walk and the opening of the Pride Centers HIV/AIDS Food Pantry.
He moved to Colorado and quickly got involved, He became Mr. Rocky Mountain Shinning Star, Mr. Gay World Colorado, SW All American Gent and became the face of the State of Colorados Proud to be Prepped Campaign.
Highlights include having dinner with President Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama, being a keynote speaker at graduations, Pride Parade Grand Marshall, being appointed by then Governor Bill Richardson to the State of New Mexico Higher Education Boatd and being recognized as a rising leader in the State of New Mexico.
A dedication of life service to the LGBTQI Community is what drives Hector. He was there to fight for Marriage Equality, to end don't ask don't tell and has helped push legislation for antibullying laws. He has spent time with the LGBQI homeless population and told their stories in journals and publications.
Hector has lived in California for 2 years and in Los Angelas for a year in a half. He has volunteered his time at Blatino Oasis in Palm Springs and for Black Pride. He continues to have a social media presence with over 200,000 followers combined and continues to speak on the inequalities that face all marginalized groups im and around the country.
